Breeding/Reproduction

The Cornibus is known to keep mating strictly to the beaches. Though foals are born in shallow waters, mating does not occur there. Males will pump blood cells into the pours that keep their bioluminescence, and turn the usually green-blue colour, into a bold crimson. Why? Because the colour of a males blood can  how healthy he is, the genes he could have, and if he has any genetic flaws. (Such as sterilization) The female will choose the male, and, if another male tries to force the other one away from her, she herself will fight back and leave a nasty scar behind. During this spectacular ritual, males have been known to splash water on the backs of other males to dull the crimson.
